Osamu Fuji served as a Policy Secretary in the House of Representatives for over a decade, working for the State Minister of Justice who was also a Special Advisor to the Prime Minister. Under the current Abe administration, he served as an aide to the Director of the House of Representatives Economy, Trade and Industry Committee and to the former Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry.
In academic area, Osamu specialises in private international law and is a member of the Private International Law Association of Japan. He also worked as a full-time faculty member carrying out research on legal expert systems. He has Bachelor's degree and a Master of Law degree from Keio University, and holds a Juris Doctor.
