Daisuke Sakamoto is a former Member of the Japanese House of Representatives and an expert on Japanese politics. During his service as a Diet member, he was a member of the Committee on Financial Affairs, the Committee on Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the Special Committee on Political Ethics and Election Law in the House of Representatives. He was also Director of the Youth Division for the Party for Future Generations.
Before his election to the National Diet, Daisuke served as a researcher for a Japanese think tank involved in tourism promotion and regional economic revitalisation. Daisuke also worked in the private sector in senior management positions of a clinical research company, and served as policy secretary and key aide to a Diet member. Born in Osaka City, he graduated from the departments of History and Political Science at Saint Martin’s University in Washington State.
